TPI Foundations Course
Learning Objectives
The learning Objectives of the Foundations Course is to understand the following
- 1. The History and movement principals of the Pilates Method
- 2. Anatomy
- 3. Physiology
- 4. The Tiaki Philosophy
- 5. Movement patterns, identification of basic faulty movement patterns
- 6. Postural Assessment, identification of faulty postures and postural correction
- 7. Common injury types
- 8. Pre-exercise clearance
- 9. Understanding of scope of practice
Course Format
20 Hours
2.5 Days Face to Face
Dates:
- Friday 3 April 2020: 12.30pm - 5.30pm
- Saturday 4 April 2020: 9.30am - 6pm
- Sunday 5 April2020: 8.30am - 5.30pm
Prerequisties
None
Cost
- $1035.00 (incl GST)(Early Bird Rate = $931.50 if paid by Feb 28th 2020)
- A deposit of $200.00 required at registration to secure your place on the course
- Cancellations by students prior to two weeks before the course starts will be refunded minus a $150.00 administration fee

TPI Mat Pilates Course
Learning Objectives
The learning objectives of the Tiaki Mat Pilates Course are
- 1. Introduction to Mat Pilates
- 2. Repertoire of 28 Mat Pilates Exercises
- 3. Programme sequencing + sample classes
- 4. Teaching tips for teaching to one client and to larger groups
- 5. Modifications for injury or special populations
- 6. By the end of course - be able to teach a beginning Mat Pilates group class or a private session
- 7. Understand Scope of practice
- 8. Learn cueing, coaching and safety tips
- 9. Introduction of small equipment and props.
Pilates Mat Course Format
106 Hours
2.5 Days Face to Face
Dates
- Friday 5 June 2020: 12.30pm - 5.30pm
- Saturday 6 June 2020: 9.30am - 6pm
- Sunday 7 June 2020: 8.30am - 5.30pm
- 10 Personal Practice Hours
- 40 Practice teaching hours
- 30 Observation hours
- 6 Hours with Mentor

- Completion of TPI Foundations Course

Reformer Course
Learning Objectives
The learning objectives of the Tiaki Reformer Course are
- 1. Introduction to the Pilates Reformer
- 2. Repertoire of 28 exercises on the Reformer
- 3. Programme sequencing + sample classes
- 4. Teaching tips for teaching to one client and to larger groups
- 5. Modifications for injury or special populations
- 6. By the end of course - be able to teach a beginning reformer group class or a private session
- 7. Understand Scope of Practice
- 8. Learn cueing, coaching and safety tips
- 9. Learn equipment safety and maintenance.
Reformer Course Format
106 Hours
2.5 Days Face to Face
Dates:
- Friday 7 August 2020: 12.30pm - 5.30pm
- Saturday 8 August 2020: 9.30am - 6pm
- Sunday 9 August 2020: 8.30am - 5.30pm
- 10 Personal Practice Hours
- 40 Practice teaching hours
- 30 Observation hours
- 6 Hours with Mentor
Prerequisites
- Participation in 20 hours of group reformer classes. These can be done at Tiaki at a discounted rate once deposit is paid
- Completion of TPI Foundations Course
